Her dream was for her family to have their own place by the water. Her vision included a two-bedroom cottage, but what she ended up finding was so much more. Courtney Thomas Design knew this project would need the California curated touch\u2014a perfect balance of indoor and outdoor living.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"96918f\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #96918f;\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.courtneythomasdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Screen-Shot-2022-10-05-at-8.43.45-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Laguna Breezy Blue California Coastal Office Design\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-4086\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where The Waiting Place Came In<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We always stay focused on the end goal and vision, especially in the face of distractions and unexpected news\u2014what we like to refer to as the Waiting Place. This project had the clients feeling a lag mid-way through, so we decided to talk them through the situation. We made trips down to Laguna, where their second home was being built, and let them know what was happening. Communication was key in moving this project forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a 30-year search, we wanted to make this California coastal design all it could be for the client. So we made sure to draw out the coastline as much as possible as this is a home built around the view, and it captures the very best of indoor and outdoor living.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"91979b\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #91979b;\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.courtneythomasdesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Screen-Shot-2022-10-05-at-8.44.07-AM.jpg\" alt=\"Laguna Breezy Blue California Coastal Outdoor Design\" class=\"not-transparent wp-image-4087\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>From Here To Home<\/em>: The Completed Design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The completed project was everything the client hoped for and more! Her vision was realized, and her family got their oasis. We honored the original architecture, but we also made sure to give the home a beachy feel.
