Open courtyard layout, Spanish architecture, Earthtone colors, Folding, Glass walls. With ties to the area, this family was looking to build a forever home, one that would grow with their young kids and embrace their casual California lifestyle.+
The California Spanish opens from all three sides onto a central grass courtyard inviting the outdoors in from every room in the house. Nature helped define interior colors early in construction. Beige, sea blues and greens with accents in rust and amethyst weave their way through tile, counters, paint and fabrics.

This Spanish wrought-iron trestle table was an auction find. It was originally destined to sit behind a sofa, but it makes so much more impact on its own in the entry.
CA climate makes folding glass walls a increasingly popular addition.
The master bedroom was our last project on this house. Parent’s bedrooms often are. This was a poignant reveal. Like any Mom who puts everyone else first, this room waited for the rest of the house to be done. When the client walked in to see it finished, she let out the biggest, most heartfelt sigh of thanks.
