Two-story entry with grand staircase, Bohemian art glass chandelier, double kitchen islands with book-matched, quartzite counters, custom, built-in cabinetry, coffered ceilings.+
This busy young family was breaking ground on their 9,000 square foot custom, new-build colonial home when we jumped in. From concept to completion, we left few details to chance. We custom designed all built-in cabinetry in the house and added architectural elements like coffered ceilings and paneled mirror vanity walls for drama. Giving the homeowner's colorful, bold art a chance to shine, we focused on fabrics, drapes and wall colors in muted shades of blues, greys, silvers and beiges. Indoor-outdoor entertainment spaces were priorities so the family could host large family gatherings at holidays and friends on weekends. For their quieter moments, though, it is the warmth of kitchen, a light-filled home office, an oversized family room couch and the bedroom retreats they crave.

Grand Entrance
What grand entry would be complete without a show-stopping chandelier? This 20-arm sconce is a Bohemian Art Glass chandelier from New York company, Weiss and Biheller. Cleaning? It's on a lift for easier access.
Big Space, Big Use
The Great Room accommodates three different functions: a Dining Room for big, family gatherings, a Living Room with lots of seating for a busy, entertaining lifestyle and a Bar Hang-Out for a basketball fan and all his game-time friends.
Ceiling Drama
When the drawings called for 10 foot ceilings in the kitchen, we suggested dimension drama of a different kind.
Master Bath Glam
High ceilings can make a space feel cavernous. We dropped a soffit over these vanities and paneled the walls with inset mirrors to create an inviting alcove that also helps balance light for make-up application.
Childhood Delights
Kid’s rooms are some of our favorite spaces to design. Kids aren’t usually shy about what they like and don’t like. But boy can they get quiet when they first see a final reveal of their new space. And then? Pure joy.
