A Modern Farmhouse Design and Remodel
A Modern Farmhouse Design Dream
A single working mom knew the big-picture vision she wanted for her modern farmhouse design. But she felt in over her head when it came to executing the details. Courtney Thomas Design stepped in to work with her contractor and ensure the project would run smoothly from construction all the way to the furnishings. This project needed to be a whole-home remodel.

Where The Waiting Place Came In
We always stay focused on the end goal and vision, especially in the face of distractions and unexpected news—what we like to refer to as the Waiting Place. With this project, the waiting came with selecting the finishing elements. It took time to add in pieces that were consistent with the furnishings the client wanted, but in the end, everything worked out.
The best part about working on a whole-home remodel is that we’re a part of a project from start to finish. That means we can be mindful of design choices throughout. This allowed us to take a proactive approach with this project and stay in line with the big-picture vision.

From Here To Home: The Completed Design
The client loves her new home and continues to unravel all of the pieces of her custom design puzzle. We created a space that serves how she wants to live in her home with her son. This home was an investment in herself and her family, and she loves the return on it.
She loves the one-of-a-kind pieces we’ve included because they help her feel right at home. Her son has a perfect hangout spot for him and his friends, and her office has a feature gallery wall filled with photos of her and her son. This is a space they can belong to for years to come.
